Artist Statement

For as long as I can remember, I have enjoyed the action of building something.

I joined the world of fine art through work as an illustrator and textile designer in New York and I remember my favorite art courses as those that involved human anatomy.

If I had to name my most valuable tool, it would be the sketchbook I use every day. This is where themes emerge and point the way to the next series of paintings.

Whether the imagery is figurative or abstract, all subjects are based on structural design and resolved with the idea that the surface paint borrows detail from the ground that supports it.
